Multiple-Liability Car Accidents

When a car accident involves more than two cars, sorting out liability and insurance issues becomes more complex than in a single-car or two-car accident. Example scenarios of multiple-car accidents, taken from various news reports, are as follows:

  • From KVUE News: "Two people died in [a] crash [involving] three vehicles -- a . . . GMC pickup truck, [an] SUV and a . . . Chevrolet pickup truck. Officials say the driver of the Chevrolet truck was headed westbound . . . when he crashed into the other vehicles, both headed east toward Austin." (January 12, 2011)
  • From ABC 13 Eyewitness News: "[A] driver veered into oncoming traffic . . . causing a double fatal accident. Police say [that a] driver of a Crown Victoria was driving north on Highway 6 just south of Bear Creek Park when he veered into oncoming traffic. [One driver swerved] to avoid the collision, but behind that vehicle, the driver of a pickup truck didn't get out of the way fast enough. That Crown Victoria driver struck the pickup truck head-on. A white Lexus . . . behind that pickup truck then struck the pickup. The Crown Victoria ricocheted off the pickup truck, striking an Escalade." (January 1, 2010)

Multiple- car accidents such as these often include an innocent party such as a car stopped at a stop sign or a Good Samaritan passerby who was trying to help after an initial crash. Bringing this type of car accident claim can take a very long time. A law firm that handles personal injury as a sideline to a business litigation or family law practice may not have the depth of experience that you need in a lawyer after a multiple-car crash. If you are hurt, we urge you to contact a law firm that handles personal injury law exclusively or almost exclusively. Lorenz & Lorenz, LLP, is that kind of law firm.
