IIHS: underride guards unsafe in rear-end collisions

Tractor trailers are commonly seen on highways throughout Texas, and in an effort to keep all drivers safe, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety performs crash tests on commercial trucks and tractor trailers. One of the tests looks at how safe underride guards are on tractor trailers for passengers in rear-end collisions with trucks.

Texas bill wants to stop 'unsafe' used tires from being sold

A proposed bill in Texas aims to protect drivers from buying unsafe used tires, offering more protection for all drivers on the road. The proposed bill would regulate used tire sales in Texas and make it a Class A misdemeanor to sell "unsafe" used tires to the public.

Distracted driving includes more than just cellphone use

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month in the U.S. and Texas is trying to raise awareness among teens about the dangers of distracted driving. While many campaigns seem to focus on the dangers of texting while driving, there are still many other distracted behaviors that contribute to car accidents in Texas.
