Fiery truck accident takes life of Texas woman

When someone drives a commercial vehicle for a living, he or she takes on added responsibility for safety on the nation's highways. Generally, commercial vehicles such as tractor trailers weigh significantly more than other vehicles, and they are much more difficult to stop when traffic conditions deteriorate. A recent 18-wheeler truck accident in Texas claimed the life of one woman, and caused additional damage to other motorists.

According to reports, a 34-year-old woman slowed along Interstate 30 due to traffic conditions on August 11. At just before 6 p.m., her vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer that swerved to miss another tractor trailer stopped on the highway. The wreck caused her car to catch fire, and also caused the 18 wheeler to catch fire as well.

The lawsuit filed by the woman's family states that she was burned to death in the accident. It asserts that the driver was guilty of failing to brake, following too closely, failing to take evasive action and other moving violations. It also requests compensatory damages for the pain and suffering the woman experienced prior to her death, funeral expenses and the family's mental anguish and grief over their loss of a loved one.

Those in Texas who are facing a similar truck accident could benefit from seeking the advice of an experienced attorney. There are many unexpected expenses that may occur after a traumatic wreck, such as funeral expenses and loss of wages. An attorney whose practice focuses on personal injury could evaluate a person's case and discuss the various legal options available to seek recompense after such a tragedy.
